The Dog Internet of Things is NOT the right solution for you if any of the following is true:
You are a minor or you are under the care of a legal guardian.
Your pet is in an urgent crisis or an emergency situation – your dog needs immediate veterinary care rather than training instruction.
You do not have a device that can connect to the Internet or you do not have a reliable Internet connection.
The instructors who work through Dog Internet of Things are qualified and credentialed instructors who were certified by their recognised educational establishments and universities to provide dog training instruction. However, while the service may have similar benefits, it's not capable of substituting for traditional face-to-face instruction in every case. Your instructor will be able to provide you with a clear analysis of the underlying causes of your pet’s behaviour. In various cases this analysis may require specific face-to-face instruction.
Depending on availability, but in most cases within 24 hours or less.
This site provides direct video conferencing with your chosen Dog Trainer or Canine Behaviourist.
Exchanging messages with your trainer; the signing up process allows you to provide a lot of information on your pet’s history and behaviour. The more accurate the information you provide prior to the live session, the more beneficial the session will be.
Once you have signed in, chosen the trainer, selected an available session from the trainer’s calendar and paid the required fee, you will receive a confirmation link by e-mail. This link will also issue automatic reminders close to the time of the consultation. Each training instruction session is limited to an agreed time of 15 to 20 minutes. They are similar to using Skype. Your trainer may prompt you to start the video session, then it begins. All sessions may be recorded by the trainer for training and quality assurance purposes. These sessions are face-to-face and it is a good idea to have your pet present so the trainer can get a clear idea of how your pet behaves. The instructor may send on further information by e-mail.
Yes. You can always login to your account and read all the instructor’s messages to you. This may help you in reflecting and remembering some of the guidance and input that you received. This is one of the main advantages of e-instruction.
This depends on your needs and varies a lot from one dog owner to another. Some people feel they get most of the value after just a few weeks, while others prefer to stick to an instructor’s recommendations for an extended period of time. The instructor may recommend a local dog training school or an expert canine instructor for specific problems. This is completely up to you.
Dog Training Instruction is based on an advertised charge per an advertised number of minutes, usually 15 or 20 minutes. Standard charge for dogs from Rescue Shelters may range from €20.00 and upwards. This is very different from the usual face-to-face instruction which can cost €80 to €150 for a single session. Your payments can be made by credit card, PayPal or Stripe.
You are not limited in the number of sessions you can have with your chosen trainer. The frequency of your sessions would vary based on your availability and the interaction between you and your instructor. For example, some dog owners have a once-off video link session which sets out a tasks to address a specific issue. Should this prove satisfactory there is no need for any further sessions. Some dog owners have a few short interactions, while others may prefer to have one session and check-in again once a training programme for a specific issue has been practiced. Your usage patterns are also likely to change over time. You may use the service extensively during a time of difficulty with your pet, and then use it sparsely at other times. Your instructor would try to accommodate your changing needs in a timely manner.
